PUSH Hosts Post-Inaugural Event

A crowd of some 100 people gathering around a projector screen at Coco's restaurant in Dayton last night watching a replay of the inaugural ceremonies and the swearing in of America's 44th President.

Hosting the event - PUSH (Professionals United for Sexual Health), a newly formed group of young professionals focused on promoting sexual health, the event was a benefit aimed at keeping Planned Parenthood's free-condom program operating through 2009.

Miami Valley Residents Observe the Inauguration

Inauguration festivities extend all over the country and the Miami Valley is no exception. Today people gathered at the C-Space in downtown Dayton as President Obama took his oath of office, and shared their thoughts on this new chapter in American History.

Problems with Voting Machines Cause for Concern

During an audit of the performance of voting machines across the state, some problems with voting machines in Montgomery County has raised concern. Among the more serious problems, five ballots were found missing from the memory card of one of the Premier Election Solution machines, formerly known as Diebold.

The glitch happened in the Trotwood precinct, where the machine showed 43 people had voted, when in fact, 48 people had voted when compared to paper records of the cast ballots.

Candidates Plan to Aid Manufacturing Differ

Dana Davidson helped build SUVs at a General Motors plant near Dayton, Ohio for 11 years. Today she's unemployed and the automaker is closing the factory for good in December.

"You know, the people in the plant we look at as family. You build a network with people, you're close to them, you know about their children, their family, you've been to their homes. It's been a rocky road," says Davidson.

Republican Candidate for Ohio's 7th Accused of Plagiarism

Democratic candidate for Ohio's 7th Congressional District race Sharen Neuhardt is accusing State Senator and Republican opponent, Steve Austria, of plagiarism. Austria wrote a column for the Xenia Gazette on Labor Day.

Neuhardt's campaign became aware of the article after an Ohio political blogger posted the column and did a side by side analysis with a Department of Public Labor factsheet on their website, highlighting very similar passages, some even verbatim.
