Judge: Ohio school operator must turn over records

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A judge in Ohio has ruled that a private management company that operates a group of publicly funded charter schools must turn over financial records requested by the schools' governing boards.

The Wednesday ruling in Columbus comes in a lawsuit in which the boards of Hope Academies and Life Skills Centers in Cleveland and Akron asked to break their contracts with Akron-based White Hat Management LLC.

School taxes on ballot in Ohio special election

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio voters are being asked to approve school taxes that, in several cases, they've already rejected at least once.

The Ohio Secretary of State's office says school issues make up the majority of the 37 questions on the ballot Tuesday in 26 of the state's 88 counties.

Panel to Study Combining Ohio School Districts

CINCINNATI – Ohio’s 614 school districts might be reduced in number depending on the results of a study.

Gov. John Kasich has asked Ohio lawmakers to set up a panel to explore whether combining school systems could save money and boost the quality of learning

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports two districts in northeast Ohio's Wayne County took a step toward consolidation and saved $300,000 a year by merging their central offices.
