Cyclops Fest

As Cyclops Festival prepares to celebrate its fifth year of handmade culture in Yellow Springs, OH several of its musical performers visited the WYSO studios for a preview on Kaleidoscope.  Harold Hensley of The Repeating Arms performed an acoustic set, members of Skratchmatik did two DJs live on the air and festival co-organizer Brian Johnson talked about what's new at this year's event.

The 2015 Cyclops Festival is Saturday, September 12th at the John Bryan Center in Yellow Springs.

This Saturday marks the second Dynamite Soul block party event in Yellow Springs.  Designed as both a thank you to the community and a preview of this year's CyclopsFest, this free family-friendly event will feature performances from Columbus' Turntable Philanthropy and Dayton-based Skratchmatik Turntable Crew, who visited the WYSO studios for alive performance on Kaleidoscope.

Dynamite Soul 2 co-organizer Brian Johnson also stopped by to talk more about the event, which takes place Saturday May 18th, 5-10pm in the Kings Yard in Yellow Springs.

After spending some time prepping their new album, Dumb Gold, the Motel Beds shifted gears to prepare for a slew of festival performances and live shows.  Tod Weidner and Ian Kaplan visited the WYSO studios to share some new tracks from Dumb Gold and talk about their upcoming live performances in Dayton and beyond.

The Motel Beds will perform at the Cyclops Festival in Yellow Springs on Saturday, September 15.  Dumb Gold will be released in November.
