Have you seen the huge daffodil farm? It is in Oakwood. Find Ridgeway Road and Peach Orchard ….it is a little north. Absolutely amazing and gorgeous!

The Dayton Philharmonic is doing Home City Stars. The trumpet guy is doing a musical interpretation of that poem by T.S.Eliot, The Hollow Men and Scott Stoney will recite the text.

General Electric to Open New Dayton Plant

General Electric's aviation unit plans to open a plant in Dayton next year.  The Dayton Daily News reports that two other plants in Mississippi and Alabama will be open next year, which will create over 400 new jobs at all three locations.

The company says it's part of a $580 million investment in its aviation business over the next five years.  GE also says it will hire 12,000 new workers over the next several years, including 5,00 veterans, as part of its expansion.

Dayton Region's First Civilian UAV Training to Begin

As part of its Workforce Development program, Sinclair Community College will run its first Unmanned Aerial Systems training class this week.

Sinclair says the purpose of the training program is to introduce students to the "basic aspects of UAS operations" focusing on ground training, global information and systems integration, among other things.

The course will be taught by experts from Sinclair and its UAS training partners, including the University of Dayton, the Center for UAV Exploitation, Woolpert design firm, and Co-Operative Engineering Services Inc. (CESI).
