This episode — the Season 6 premiere — aired on Sunday September 11, the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on the United States. This special episode examined the medical response at Ground Zero, the site of New York City’s World Trade Center. 

Featured Guests: Dr. Steven Sampson, who was on his ER medical school rotation in Manhattan on 9/11, and Dr. Jacqueline Moline, who is a leading expert on the physical and mental health of the World Trade Center responders in the decade since September 11, 2001.

Ten years ago, Dayton resident Jerry Winhoven was at a training session  at the World Trade Center in New York. Now, he lives in Celina and says he remembers running out of the towers moments before they fell.

Tony Shaffer's publisher was all set to release his memoir when the Department of Defense stepped in and demanded that the entire first edition be destroyed. They pulped it.

This action was most unusual in light of the fact that Shaffer, a former US intelligence agent in Afghanistan, had previously obtained all the proper clearances to publish his book. The DOD then proceeded to censor significant portions of it. The book was eventually published in a heavily redacted version. Why is the DOD so worried about what Shaffer has to say?
