PoliticsOhio: Election Results Bring Uncertainty On State's Next Move On Healthcare

Emily McCord speaks to Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler in this week's installment of PoliticsOhio. Kasler reports the aftermath of last week's election. She finds that opinion differ on the potential economic impact by the latest move by the Tea Party to make Ohio a "Right To Work" state. She says while the outcome of Issue 3, the ballot issue that allow Ohioans to opt-out of the federal health care mandate, doesn't mean much now on the federal level, but could affect the state's preparation for the changes.

PoliticsOhio: Ohio's Election Sets Stage For 2012

For PoliticsOhio this week, Emily McCord speaks to Ellen Belcher, the former editor of the Dayton Daily News editorial page. The nation’s eyes have been on Ohio as voters overwhelmingly overturned Issue 2, the referendum on the law that limits collective bargaining rights. Belcher discusses the possible impact this will have on next year’s election. She also reports on the latest move by Tea Party groups who are proposing a constitutional amendment to prevent worker from being required to join unions, and says this may prove a problem for Ohio Republicans.

PoliticsOhio: Congressional Redistricting Map Still Up In The Air As Negotiations Continue

Emily McCord speaks to Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, who has been covering the latest over the congressional redistricting map. Democrats have started a referendum drive on this GOP passed map. Republicans are negotiating with Democrats to pass another map through an emergency clause, but so far, those talks haven't been successful. Ingles reports on the latest proposal.

PoliticsOhio: Party Leaders In Ohio Spar Over Issue 2, Redistricting

In this week's PoliticsOhio, Emily McCord speaks to Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler. She interviewed the Ohio Democratic Party leader, Chris Redfern, and the Republican leader, Kevin DeWine. They discussed their views on Issue 2, the ballot referendum on collective bargaining in the state. DeWine and Redfern touch on the Republican proposed congressional district map and the Democrats effort to repeal it on next year's ballot. Kasler also reports on the campaign finance report released this week regarding spending on Issue 2 and what the numbers mean.

PoliticsOhio: Opponents Block Election Reform Law Temporarily

Emily McCord speaks to Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles for this week’s PoliticsOhio. Ingles reported this week on the latest efforts to put the newly adopted election reform law on the ballot. She says Ohio voters should not expect any changes next week from the year before. Ingles give updates on the poll numbers this week for President Obama in the state and touches on discussion regarding redistricting.
