Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Skratchmatik To Perform At 2014 Cyclops Fest

The members of Skratchmatik Assassin Turntable Terror Crew returned to the WYSO studios for the a live set on Kaleidoscope ahead of their appearance at the 2014 Cyclops Festival in Yellow Springs.  Festival co-organizer Brian Johnson also talked with host Juliet Fromholt about this year's event.

The 2014 Cyclops Festival is Saturday, September 13th at the John Bryant Center in Yellow Springs.

Nightbeast To Release New EP

In the over two year's since Nightbeast last visited the WYSO studios, the band has expanded from a basically one person act to a full band of six.  Staying busy with both local and out of town shows, the band is now preparing to release a new EP called It's Different, I Guess and returned to WYSO for a live set on Kaleidoscope.

Nightbeast will celebrate the release of their new EP on September 12th at Canal Public House.  They'll be joined onstage by Duderus and DipSpit, who are also release a split EP, and Andy D.

Speaking Suns Prepare Vanishing Country For Release

Speaking Suns

With roots in Yellow Springs and a now set lineup, Speaking Suns are poised for their next big step with the release of Vanishing Country, a new album that reflects the evolving sound of the band. Jake Diebold and David Byrne visited the WYSO studios to preview tracks from the album and talked about the progression of the band and the recording process.

Mack McKenzie Live on Kaleidoscope

In the process of finalizing his debut album, Mack McKenzie visited the WYSO studios for live set on Kaleidoscope. Performing several new songs as well as sharing album tracks, McKenzie talked about returning to his musical roots and the Dayton area, tackling writing and recording and forming a band.

Mack McKenzie's album, One Last, One More will be released later this fall.

Meg Renee Live on Kaleidsocope

Meg Renee is a young singer-songwriter from Troy, Ohio who's quickly making a name for herself playing a variety of local events and venues.  She recently released her debut album, Dream Awake, and visited the WYSO studios to share both live and recorded songs on Kaleidoscope.

Meg Renee will perform at Kettering's Holiday at Home on Sunday, August 31st, as well as Lost Creek Music Experience, Urban Nights and several other local festivals and events throughout September. More information at http://www.megrenee.com/
