Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Blue Moon Soup

Blue Moon Soup

Ben Clonch (Guitar, Vocals), Robbie Marion (Fiddle, Vocals), Jon Bauman (Standup Bass, Vocals) and Brendan Moore (Mando, Vocals) share a love for the music of Jerry Garcia.  In Yellow Springs-based Blue Moon Soup, they channel bluegrass, folk and psychedelia into a signature sound that they've been honing since 2010.  Here they visit the WYSO studios for a live set and to share tracks from their upcoming album, Lonely Mountain. 

Blue Moon Soup will release Lonely Mountain on December 24th at Canal Street Tavern.  They'll also perform on December 2nd at Blind Bob's on 5th Street.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Frontier Folk Nebraska

Frontier Folk Nebraska

Hailing from Covington, KY, Frontier Folk Nebraska has found a musical home in Dayton, OH.  They'll celebrate the release of their new self-titled album in Dayton at South Park Tavern on Saturday, November 19 with the Turkish Delights and King Elk.  Michael Hensley and Travis Talbert from the band visited the WYSO studios to perform an acoustic set as well as share tracks from the new album and chat with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt.

Gladgirl Shelly Hulce is usually behind the scenes at Kaleidoscope, but she steps in front of the microphone with local musician Tod Weidner to chat with Juliet Fromholt about Space Oddity: a Resurrection of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.  This theatrical rock and roll show happens Friday night at Gilly's in Dayton.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Beards of Science

Members of the Beard Team Ohio join Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt in the studio to talk about Beards of Science, Ohio's second beard and mustache competition being held on Saturday, November 12 at COSI in Columbus.  It's a gathering of local beard and mustache clubs throughout Ohio and beyond to celebrate facial hair (both real and fake), compete to have the best beards and mustaches and raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.

Chris Yakopcic's new album, "Done Found My Freedom 'Fore I Found My Technique"
