Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

New Vega Live on Kaleidoscope

Chance Campbell, Alex Rundle, Adam Sabin and Zach Sabin have been playing together as New Vega since 2008.  They spent the early part of 2012 performing live in Dayton and Cincinnati and are now heading into the studio to record a new album that will be their first release with WHOA Records. 

New Vega returned to the WYSO studios to perform 4 new songs from their forthcoming album, which is set for a February 2013 release.  They spoke with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about preparing to record and plans for the new year.

Terminal Cafe Live on Kaleidoscope

Terminal Cafe began performing in Dayton in the 1980s and competed in the first ever Dayton Band Playoffs at the newly opened Canal Street Tavern.  After many years apart, the band has reunited and started rehearsing for an upcoming reunion show along with several current local bands containing the members' children.  Terminal Cafe visited the WYSO studios for their first live performance in over a decade.  They spoke with Shelly Hulce about the Dayton music scene in the 1980s, the decision to reunite and preparations for their reunion concert.

Motel Beds Prep New Album

The Motel Beds

After spending some time prepping their new album, Dumb Gold, the Motel Beds shifted gears to prepare for a slew of festival performances and live shows.  Tod Weidner and Ian Kaplan visited the WYSO studios to share some new tracks from Dumb Gold and talk about their upcoming live performances in Dayton and beyond.

The Motel Beds will perform at the Cyclops Festival in Yellow Springs on Saturday, September 15.  Dumb Gold will be released in November.

Ruckus Roboticus Live on Kaleidoscope

As the name of his first album suggests, Dan Haug aka Ruckus Roboticus began his musical career by playing with scratches.  Over the years, he's been creating songs akin to sound collages and recording them as well as performing live.  Recently, Ruckus has been looking to Dayton's funk roots for inspiration as heard in his forthcoming single, "TGIF."  Ruckus Roboticus visisted the WYSO studios to preview the new track and talk about his latest live and studio endeavors.

Mieka Pauley Live on Kaleidoscope

When embarking on her new album, The Science of Making Choices, Mieka Pauley turned to fan-funding to support the project and says that having her fans follow the progress of the album helped motivate her throughout the process.  Pauley spoke with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about her writing process, finding ways to preserve her live sound during the recording process and why she enjoys being on the road.

Mieka Pauley will perform at Ghostlight Coffee in Dayton on September 12 at 8pm.
