Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Live on Kaleidoscope: New Vega

New Vega makes their second visit to the WYSO studios to perform an acoustic set and share tracks from their upcoming album, Tempo.  The band will celebrate the album's release on July 30th at Canal Street Tavern with The Future Laureates and Grenades!?

Live on Kaleidoscope: The Fair Shakes

Nick Kizirnis and John Dubuc began playing together in The Obvious in the 1980s at Canal Street Tavern where Deni Wilson ran sound.  Year later, the trio formed the Fair Shakes and their reggae rock alter-egos, The Rude Boys.  Here the Fair Shakes perform live on Kaliedoscope and chat with host Juliet Fromholt about their roots in the Dayton Music scene, balancing two bands and upcoming shows.

Live on Kaleidoscope: We Were Animals

When Ed. Vs. Radio disbanded, Jason Gilmore and Nigel Verboon decided that they wanted to continue playing together, but they wanted to do something different from the pop-punk style they had been playing together for years.  This experimentation led to the creation of We Were Animals and the addition of I Died Trying's Mark on drums.  The band has released a two song demo with plans for a full album release in July.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Starving in the Belly of the Whale

Having gained several new members since their last apperance on Kaleidoscope, Starving in the Belly of the Whale returns to the WYSO studios to perform some new songs.  A fluid lineup of players joins frontman Ricky Terrell onstage and on the new album the band just finished recording.  The album is set to be released later this summer and will be free as are the band's previous releases.  Here the band discusses plans for the rest of the year and how their writing and recording process has evolved to accommodate a rotating lineup.

Live on Kaleidoscope: The Redtone Sixes

The Redtone Sixes

The Redtone Sixes have been doing some traveling since their last visit to the WYSO studios.  The group has been doing some regional touring since the release of their album, Pleasure Box.  At the same time, they've been hard at work recording a follow-up album. 

The Redtone Sixes returned to Kaleidoscope for a live set and to talk about what's next for them as far as touring and recording.
