Live on Kaleidoscope: Bonneville

Bonneville makes their second appearance on Kaleidoscope, performing stripped down versions of tracks from their forthcoming album, Amy's House and debuting several album tracks.  Amy's House was written after the band's 2010 release, Drawing Maps, and features the addition of keyboards as a focal instrument on the majority of the tracks.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Magic Jackson

Magic Jackson combines rock and roll, jazz, and funk to create their own unique jams.  With the current lineup only about 6 months old, Nathan Lewis (guitar/vocals), Mike McKewen (bass/vocals), John Gentry Jr. (guitar/vocals), Rob Brockman (drums/vocals) have been hard at work building their live set over the summer

Magic Jackson will perform at Canal Street Tavern on October 1st with Romeo Champagne.

This Friday marks the fall edition of Urban Nights in downtown Dayton.  It's an event that showcases the music, arts, dining and housing that downtown Dayton has to offer.  On this edition of Kaleidoscope, Juliet Fromholt spoke with Kristen Wicker and Krystal Luketic from the Downtown Dayton Partnership about the origins of Urban Nights and the new features at this fall's event.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Andy Copp

Local filmmaker Andy Copp makes a return visit to the WYSO studios to talk about his latest work-in-progress, Church of the Eyes and his Independent Shadow Cinema series at Englewood Cinema.

Englewood Cinema will also host a retrospective of Andy Copp's work on September 2nd.

Live on Kaleidoscope: Paige Beller

Paige Beller is a local singer songwriter who performs on her own and with indie punk band Jasper the Colossal. Earlier this summer, Beller released a new solo album called Don't You Dare and is already writing songs for the next album. Don't You Dare was recorded with Jason Gilmore (We Were Animals, Ed vs Radio) at his home studio which Beller says gave her a chance to hear her work objectively and allowed her songs to evolve.
