Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

A Celebration of Art and Music at the Yellow Cab's Dayton Is For Lovers

On Friday, February 14th, the Yellow Cab in downtown Dayton will host Dayton Is For Lovers, a Valentine's Day dance.  The event features music from Lost on Iddings, Jah Soul and DJ Jay Madewell as well as an art show, a special Valentine's themed photobooth from Jennifer Clark and more.  Clark and members of Lost on Iddings and Jah Soul visited the WYSO studios for an acoustic performance and talked about Dayton Is For Lovers and the upcoming Side Show at the Yellow Cab.

The Great Wide Open Live on Kaleidsocope

The Great Wide Open

Jake Sims, Travis Runyon and Jon Sims began playing together on the back porch, eventually starting to perform live for audiences, and The Great Wide Open was born.  The trio visited the WYSO studios to perform live and talked about the development of their sound, the importance of folk music and more.

The Leap Years Live on Kaleidoscope

After spending time in the studio over UD's winter break, the members of the Leap Years make a return visit to Kaleidoscope to share new live music and talk about the development of their new EP.  The band chats with host Juliet Fromholt about its first studio experience, the forthcoming EP and an upcoming performance at the Dayton Does Dayton Music Festival.

The Leap Years will perform at the Dayton Does Dayton Music Festival, February 14 and 15 at Gilly's.

Crooks on Tape Bring Fingerprint Album To Life

When John Schmersal moved to LA, he and former Enon bandmate Rick Lee began to play music with Joey Galvan, and the idea was simply to record everything in the moment.  Those sessions would later be pieced together to form Fingerprint, the debut album from Crooks on Tape.  Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt spoke with Schmersal about making the album and then adapting that material into something the band could perform on the road.

Crooks on Tape will perform on January 30th at Rockstar Pro Arena with Swimdiver, Swarm and Bearer of Bad News.
