Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Independent Comic Creators Talk Craft, Community

For as long as he can remember, Dayton area native Jason Young has been drawing for as long as he could hold a pencil.  Now he's an established member of the independent comic community with his on-going series, Veggie Dog Saturn.  Young and Silber Media's Brian John Mitchell visited the WYSO studios and spoke with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about their creative process, the independent comic community and more.

Team Void Live on Kaleidoscope

Team Void

It's been a year since Team Void's last visit to the WYSO studios, and the band has been keeping busy putting the final touches on their Robot Killer album and performing live in Dayton and beyond.  With Robot Killer now ready for release and a summer of great shows on deck, Team Void returned to the WYSO studios to perform a set of new songs as well as share from tracks from Robot Killer.

Team Void will perform as part of the Fun Rocker benefit for Dayton Children's on July 7th at Jimmie's Ladder 11.

Ghettoblaster Magazine is a national music and culture magazine based in part in Dayton, Ohio.  Its editor, Dave Obenour has been a frequent guest on Kaleidoscope over the past few years, and joins host Juliet Fromholt this week to talk about some of the artists, new and old, featured in the latest issue.

Trey Stone and the Ringers Live on Kaleidoscope

Before landing in Dayton, Trey Stone served as a music director for Chicago's Second City for 15 years. These days he makes music that blends rock, Americana, jazz and much more and that diversity is reflected in his new album, Ahead of the Pack. Trey Stone and the Ringers visited the WYSO studios to perform live and talked with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about the sounds that influenced the album, future plans and much more.

Cricketbows Live on Kaleidoscope

Cricketbows

What began as a solo recording project for Rev Chad Wells soon grew into a full fledged band with players gathered from throughout the Dayton music community.  With their debut live performance close in sight, the members of Cricketbows visited the WYSO studios for a live set on Kaleidoscope and spoke with hose Juliet Fromholt about finding their live sound from Wells' original recordings and the dark psychedelic music past and present that has influenced the band.
