The Brothers and Co. Variety Show combines music, magic, bullwhip acts, comedy and more into a true variety show in the style of the Grand Ole Oprey. 

In this installment of Excursions, The Relentless Mules visit WYSO to share their energetic brand of Bluegrass.

Based in Columbus, the Relentless Mules have played all across the country bringing high quality Bluegrass wherever they go. Many of the band’s members grew up in the tradition of Bluegrass, and this quality comes across in their playing, as you can tell they all greatly enjoy the music they play as much as their audience does.

While trying to pay off his own student loans, Aaron Calafato found himself working at a for-profit university.  Based on his experiences in the for-profit education industry, Calafato wrote and performs in For Profit, a one man show that combines storytelling, comedy and theatre.

Calafato will perform For Profit this weekend at the Occupy Dayton Community Space on East Third Street in Dayton.

The Folk-Rock duo known as Water Liars stops by WYSO to chat with Chris Shea on this installment of Excursions.

Water Liars formed after an impromptu basement recording session between band members Andrew Bryant and Justin Kinkel Schuster. With only one microphone, the duo recorded an album that blended folk and rock in a standout way. Having played at the South by Southwest festival, Water Liars’ brand of ghostly folk with a rock edge is quickly gaining a following.
