  • In the news wrap, WYSO's Election Preview: Lewis Wallacereports on how new and renewal school levies stand to fair at the ballot box.  WYSO's Jerry Kenney reports on the controversies taking place in the Springboro School Board race. News Director Emily McCord speaks with US Senator Sherrod Brown about problems with the Affordable Care Act website, budget negotiations and his decision to support Dayton mayoral candidate Nan Whaley. Karen Kasler with the Ohio Statehouse News Beauru reports on new legislation introduced on minor-party candidates, and WYSO's Wayne Baker reports on levy support in Clark County. Finally, Lewis Wallace reports on new 'self-insurance' plans.
  • It's the time of year when ghost and ghouls are on the mind. but for some folks in the Miami Valley, the spirit world is a year-round occupation.

    Community Voices producer Lauren Shows takes us to Springfield to meet Darin Hough, who left his previous job to open Ghost Hunting Source, a store that sells paranormal investigation equipment.

  • Objects of Devotion is the Dayton Art Institute's newest special exhibit.  It features over 60 alabaster sculptures that were originally displayed in homes and churches in Medieval England.  Objects of Devotion is being paired with Wings, a modern sculpture exhibition by Elizabeth Turk. WYSO's Juliet Fromholt spoke with curator Aimee Marcereau DeGalan in the gallery ahead of the exhibits' opening last week. Objects of Devotion and Elizabeth Turk's Wings are on display now through January 5th at the Dayton Art Institute.

Jerry began volunteering at WYSO in 1991 and hosting Sunday night's Alpha Rhythms in 1992. He joined the YSO staff in 2007 as Morning Edition Host, then All Things Considered. He's hosted Sunday morning's WYSO Weekend since 2008 and produced several radio dramas and specials . In 2009 Jerry received the Best Feature award from Public Radio News Directors Inc., and was named the 2023 winner of the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors Best Anchor/News Host award. His current, heart-felt projects include the occasional series Bulletin Board Diaries, which focuses on local, old-school advertisers and small business owners. He has also returned as the co-host Alpha Rhythms.<br/>
