WYSO Weekend: November 12, 2017

Attorney Gen. Mike DeWine this week announced $971,000 in grants to eight Ohio veterans-service organizations. The recipient groups include five Ohio chapters of Honor Flight. Since 2005, the organization has transported hundreds of veterans to see memorials in Washington D.C.. Honor Flight Dayton President and Director Jim Salaman says the money will go a long way toward expanding services to veterans.

 

On Friday, WYSO Music Director Niki Dakota and Jeff Opt from the Yellow Cab Tavern in Dayton had a conversation about the upcoming event at the Dayton Art Institute - The last Waltz is back for another run - wonderful performances from some very talented local artists. Here’s some of what they had to say.

He's hosted Sunday morning's WYSO Weekend since 2008 and produced several radio dramas and specials . In 2009 Jerry received the Best Feature award from Public Radio News Directors Inc., and was named the 2023 winner of the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors Best Anchor/News Host award. His current, heart-felt projects include the occasional series Bulletin Board Diaries, which focuses on local, old-school advertisers and small business owners. He has also returned as the co-host Alpha Rhythms.<br/>
