What's Great in Dayton: September 8 - 14, 2017

At Rosewood Arts Center you connect with other artists, be part of the maker's community, and pick-up some supplies! Come by the Maker's Market and shop while networking! Various items including painting, scrapbooking, sewing, sculpting supplies, and more! Saturday, 10am - 2pm.

Learn 'how to' do a variety of things at Centerville Library's How-To Festival on Saturday, 11am - 3pm. The festival features more than 30 stations throughout the Library with demonstrations on how to do basic activities such as grilling the perfect steak, arranging flowers, repairing drywall, staining furniture, 3D printing and more.

A Reading and a Book Signing by David Lee Garrison who is launching his new book Carpeing the Diem; Poems about High School. This is at the Wright Memorial Library in Oakwood on Saturday, 2pm.

A Fascinating Fall Foliage Walk is Sunday starting at 2:30pm. Learn the secrets of trees as leaves turn from green to a colorful palette of bronze, crimson, orange, scarlet, gold and purple. Discover why trees shed their leaves and other strategies trees use to prepare for winter in a guided outdoor exploration.

The Peacebuilder Walk & Village event is from 4 to 6pm on Sunday at Riverscape in Dayton. There will be approximately 700 walkers and 30 Peace Building organizations represented. The walk takes place from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. And at 6pm is the WYSO Community Concert at the Pavilion.

And finally WYSO's next limited edition shirt will be decided by you! They held a design contest to gather possible designs for their new t-shirt and hoodie and it has been narrowed down to their top 4 picks.Now it's YOUR turn to cast the deciding vote.
