What's Great in Dayton: September 19 - 25, 2014

Beekeeping 101: A Getting Started Workshop is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. From beeswax to honey, discover how such a small insect makes a mighty impact. Learn about what goes on inside a hive. Find out what equipment is needed and what to consider before getting started.

On Sunday from 11am-4:00pm, the 3rd on Third Outdoor Market is going on AND the Front Street Art Studios will also be open then. This is in downtown Dayton on East Third just a couple blocks east of Keowee. Go to Facebook and find 3rdon3rd.

Do you have some old tires you want to get rid of? Montgomery County is holding a Tire Buyback Event from 11 to 4 on Sunday at the Solid Waste Transfer Station (in Moraine). Each tire you turn in will get you $2 (instead of you having to pay your tire company to take your old ones away).

If you want to see a wonderful, funny play then head to the Human Race Theatre. It is called Miracle on South Division Street. I saw it a couple of nights ago and it is so funny and so well done! And it wraps up this Sunday.

The Dayton Foundation is kicking-off a project to highlight the good work organizations and nonprofits are doing to make a difference in our community. Go to Facebook and find Dayton Foundation #SpreadtheGood

And a little north of Yellow Springs on Rt. 68 is like 10 acres of sunflowers! You need to see it! And they are having a photo contest of it right now!

Gotta Go....
