What's Great in Dayton: November 6 - 12, 2015

The 16th Blues & Boogie Piano Summit is tonight and Saturday, at the Southgate House Revival in Newport, Ky. It features four outstanding boogie woogie players including  Ricky Nye who occasionally comes right here to WYSO.  The show starts at 9:00pm and doors open at 8:00pm. This is an all ages non-smoking event.

Aullwood's Happy Bird Day is Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00 pm. Enjoy a Morning Bird Walk from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Take a close look at birds during a bird banding demonstration from 9:30 to noon. And you can Build Your Own Birdhouses or Bird Feeders. You celebrate the awesome world of birds.

The Trust for Public Land, Antioch College, and Tecumseh Land Trust invite you to Glen Helen Forever …a celebration of the permanent protection of Glen Helen Nature Preserve. This is on Sunday and the program begins at 2:30 p.m. at Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center. Join the community of Glen Helen enthusiasts for music, light refreshments, and fun! The preserve's important habitat and water resources are now safeguarded for future generations.

BULLETS OVER BROADWAY is the hilarious musical comedy and it is here through Sunday at The Schuster. It was written by Woody Allen, and is the story of a young playwright who, in desperate need of financial backing for his next show, accepts an offer he can’t refuse from a mobster. I saw this and it is superb!!!!
