Get ready to paint the town! Celebrate downtown Dayton's vibrant visual arts scene tonight at Art in the City, a new event highlighting downtown's galleries, creative spaces, entertainment hubs, and the talented downtown artist community. This is a huge, drop-in painting party that lets you create your own art for free.
Glen Helen is having a day of organized hikes on Saturday. Beginning at 5:30am is the Dawn Chorus hike, and there are like nine guided birding events with up to 100 different species of birds. This provides the chance to document the migratory native species in this area which is International Migratory Bird Day.
Another morning bird walk on Saturday is at Woodland Cemetery. This slow-paced walk will wind through the grounds, and look for the many different birds like Baltimore Orioles, Scarlet Tanagers, and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Don't forget your camera and binoculars! The walk is from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and leaves from the main entrance of the cemetery.
On Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00pm Learning Tree Farm will be hosting a fantastic day on the farm with Harvest Mobile Cuisine, the Kettering Banjo Society, a live vintage Fashion show, silent auction, kids crafts, and tours of their amazing facilities.
The Bach Society has South American Accents and Music from the Americas. Prepare to be delighted for their concert which stirs the soul, lights the heart, and highlights music from North and South America.
