What's Great in Dayton: May 15 - 21, 2015

A Word A'Fair
A World A'Fair is this weekend at the Dayton Convention Center

Amateur radio enthusiasts from around the world will once again make the trek to Dayton for Hamvention. Today, Saturday and Sunday they will feature the theme “Homebrew Radio” which focuses on the maker movement that is influencing the growth of amateur radio.

Also this weekend is A World A'Fair. This is the 43rd annual celebration of diversity that showcases the food, dancing, music, costumes, and cultural exhibits representing the ethnic backgrounds and cultures of Dayton and the greater Miami Valley.

Touch the velvet ears of a baby kid goat, feel the curly wool of a lamb, and listen to peeping chicks at Aullwood's Farm Babies Fest! Admission for the festival is $5/car. Enjoy hands-on demonstrations and exhibits, homespun farm crafts, and dozens of new baby farm animals! There is an abundance of food to indulge in too. Saturday, 10;00 am - 5:00 pm. On your Facebook find: AullwoodAudubon

PechaKucha will be at the Dayton Convention Center Saturday, at 7:30PM. PK is part of the World A'Fair celebration but you don't have to buy a ticket to World A'Fair to enter the PK space. They have a separate entrance with free admission. You'll enjoy eight great speakers  based on their adventures, ideas, projects and inspirations. On your Facebook find: PechaKucha Dayton

On Sunday from 3-5 join for an afternoon of information, friendship, fun and food as you explore the Huffman Historic Area and learn about the joys of living in a vibrant historic inner-city neighborhood.
