Mar 23, 2012

Have you seen the huge daffodil farm? It is in Oakwood. Find Ridgeway Road and Peach Orchard ….it is a little north. Absolutely amazing and gorgeous!

The Dayton Philharmonic is doing Home City Stars. The trumpet guy is doing a musical interpretation of that poem by T.S.Eliot, The Hollow Men and Scott Stoney will recite the text.

Those Wonderful Winged Women is Saturday, 2:00pm and you will learn how they met and conquered all kind of hurdles to open the world of aviation to women.  One famous aviatrix was Harriet Quimby who in 1912 became the first woman to fly across the English Channel. This will be at the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center across from the Wright Memorial, just off of Kauffman Avenue and Route 444.

BAM! presents the first ever Cash Mob in Dayton! On Saturday at 5:00pm show up at 521 E. Fifth Street and be ready to spend up to $20 at a nearby locally- owned retail shop! In general, cash mobs encourage people to go into small, local businesses and spend their money, en masse, to give the business owner a little bit of economic stimulus. Saturday is the National Cash Mob Day in nearly 200 cities.
