What's Great in Dayton: March 13 - 19, 2015

Wright Memorial Library in Oakwood
Wright Memorial Library is hosting a history of Oakwood's classic architecture

A celebration for the Do It Yourself day is  Saturday, at WBI Tec^Edge Innovation and Collaboration Center. It is to bring together various maker groups/businesses and to encourage exploration and tinkering as a path to innovation and to inspire future generations to become interested in STEM. This event is free and open to the community. All ages are welcome.

If you are interested in some of Oakwood’s Classic Architecture then a brief history behind some of these is Sunday, at 2:00pm at the Wright Memorial Library.

On Sunday at 3:00, The Turkish American Society is proud to present a special, one-time screening of TWO HEARTS AS ONE. This powerful film - one of the most expensive productions in Turkish film history - is based on a true story. Starting in 1940's Soviet Russia, and continuing into 1990's, this is the story of four hearts which couldn't be stopped by distances and years.

Perspectives on Disability: This symposium will consist of three 50-minute sessions in which the panel of University of Dayton faculty and students will explore the intersections of Rites, Rights, and Writes as they relate to disabilities and the arts. This is Monday, 9:00 am – noon at UD. It is Free and open to the public.

Dayton's Bike Share, called Link, has been officially launched. The $1 million project, led by Bike Miami Valley and its new executive director will place more than 200 bikes at 24 stations in a four-mile radius from Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton.
