What's Great in Dayton: January 17 - 23, 2014

The Muse Machine doing Seussical is going on right now through Sunday.

The Dayton International Peace Museum will honor the Nobel Peace Prize laureate at a luncheon on Saturday, at 11:30 a.m. at the Dayton Art Institute. They will recognize the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for its work to eliminate chemical weapons in Syria and in other countries around the globe.

The Subject Was Roses is an American classic play about a dysfunctional family focusing on the return of a son from WWII. His parents appear to be happy, but slowly the facade pulls away to reveal emotional wounds and problems yet to be resolved. Now – Jan. 26 at Dayton Theatre Guild.

Monday is Martin Luther King Day and at 10:00am is the Memorial March and Rally which ends up at the Dayton Convention Center.  The Martin Luther King Celebration Banquet is at 6pm at the Convention Center. The theme: “Is America Humanly and Civilly Bankrupt?”

On Tuesday at the Schuster is the Mid-Day Arts Cafe and it features FilmDayton! Enjoy a delicious box lunch from Citilites and a chance to network with arts lovers learning more about films in Dayton.
