What's Great in Dayton: January 11 - 17, 2013

The Muse Machine is doing Crazy For You and you can see it at the Victoria tonight, Saturday, or Sunday. It has many of the greatest songs ever written for musical theatre - including I Got Rhythm, They Can't Take That Away From Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Embraceable You, and many others. This is now a fresh new show that is fast paced, genuinely funny and full of show-stopping production numbers.

"Ghosts" is a new play at the Dayton Theatre Guild and it is opening tonight.  The ''ghosts'' in this play are taboo topics that cannot be openly discussed. This drama is one of Ibsen's most powerful works, but also one of his most controversial. Family sins are revisited when a son returns home to dedicate an orphanage in his father's name and becomes involved in a tryst that ends in the painful knowledge of long suppressed family truths.

The second lecture of Aullwood's Winter Speaker Series will feature Nina Lapitan, Aullwood's Volunteer Coordinator, on Sunday, starting at 2:30 p.m. Her topic is Alaska: A Conservation Connection.

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Principal String Quartet will perform at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 4 p.m. This is hosted by Trinity Presbyterian. The program consists of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Quartet No. 15 in D Minor and Claude Debussy's Quartet in G Minor (Op.10). A reception will follow the performance.
Trinity Presbyterian Church is located at 3211 Lakeview Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45408.
