What's Great in Dayton: August 22 - 28, 2014

The 2014 Eichelberger FilmDayton Festival showcases locally connected films, the "best of the fests" and great short and feature films. It is tonight, Saturday, and Sunday at the Neon Movies.

Learn the value of the antique quilt that is stored in your attic or bring in a contemporary quilt. On Saturday, 10AM - 4PM, two certified quilt appraisers will be available at the Dayton International Peace Museum to provide information on the value of quilts.

The AleFest is Saturday, from 2-5pm behind Wegerzyn Gardens. This is the 16th Annual AleFest Dayton which is an annual craft beer festival showcasing over 400 of the finest beer styles of the world, as well as a NEW Cider tent in a responsible, educational, & enjoyable fashion.

On Sunday the Oakwood Historical Society will host their annual "Classics on the Lawn" Car Show and their Open House. This is from noon to 4:00 PM. and it is is at the Long-Romspert Homestead House Museum, 1947 Far Hills Ave in Oakwood.

Tickets for TEDxDayton are on sale now. The event is slated for Friday, Oct. 17, at the Victoria Theatre and this year's theme is "Explore. Exchange. Excite." The innovative all-day program, an outgrowth of the popular TED conference series, brings together a variety of speakers on a wide range of topics.
