The Germanfest Picnic returns to Carillon Park this weekend

Drop by, hang out, and party on in the downtown Dayton Square! Tonight from 5 to 8pm is the Drop Party for Over the Edge, the popular annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Watch as local fundraisers rappel down the side of the 27-story KeyBank Tower. Enjoy food, beer, and live music, try your hand (and feet) at a climbing wall, fun tricycle races, and more!

The SunWatch Native Flute Festival is this weekend. Enjoy performances by flutists from throughout the region, and sample American Indian foods including Indian tacos, bison burgers and corn. View beautifully crafted flutes and other offerings from arts and crafts vendors on the scenic grounds.

The 32nd edition of the Germanfest Picnic returns to Carillon Historical Park this weekend including a Sunday morning Polka Mass at 11 am. There is a Kidz Zone, a wide variety of craftspeople and vendors will offer their goods at the Marktplatz. And what would the Germanfest Picnic be without that fabulous German food, wein and bier?

The exciting Hispanic Heritage Festival is back with hot and spicy Latin music and delicious Latin food. The sounds of salsa, merengue, latin jazz, cumbia, and more will come alive in the biggest fiesta in downtown Dayton! Saturday, 11:00 am-11:00 pm. Admission is free. RiverScape MetroPark.

3rd on Third is Dayton's Eclectic Outdoor Market. It takes place the 3rd Sunday of the month on East Third Street at Bates -hence the name 3rd on Third. It is this Sunday from 11am - 4pm. There is Fun for the Family and it will be featuring the Good Time Accordion Band this Sunday.

Charlie, It’s Great In Dayton, Campbell

Charlie Campbell wants to spread the news of so many wonderful aspects in the greater Dayton area. He is a cheerleader and a real believer that our area is the place to be. He has been active in this area for almost 40 years and you can hear him weekly at WYSO.
