What's Great in Dayton: April 5 - 11, 2013

Today is First Friday in downtown Dayton. There will be a Walking Tour, Craft Battle, Beer Tasting, Art Shows, and More.

When two cynical lawyers-one black and one white- prepare to defend a powerful white businessman accused of raping a young black woman, they must confront their own perceptions and prejudices….and this is a play at the Human Race Theatre.

On Friday, and Sunday, in the Schuster Center, Dayton Opera will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's delightful, engaging comedy The Marriage of Figaro performed in Italian with English surtitles above the stage.

Gettysburg, the battle of 150 years ago is a presentation of The Lincoln Society of Dayton and will be on Sunday, at 2:00 in the IAMS room of the Kettering Family Education Center at Carillon Park. The speaker will be Col. Allan W. Howey, an enthusiastic Civil War teacher and historian.

Lunafest is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women. Proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Fund and to Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region. This is Sunday, April 7, 3:00pm at the Neon.
