What's Great in Dayton: April 4 - 10, 2014

Today is First Friday in downtown Dayton: art exhibits, live music, Dragons baseball, a fashion show preview, spring shopping, a Courteous Mass bike ride and more; 5 – 10pm

If you want some more books then you'll always find great bargains at the Dayton Metro Library’s Big Spring Book Sale.  This is at Hara Arena and it is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday and Sunday, The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company presents a fusion of dance and live instrumentalists and singers who are chosen among students attending University of Dayton, Central State University, and Wright State University. You can see and hear the dynamism of these collaborative relationships onstage.

A poetry reading and book signing by David Lee Garrison, author of Playing Bach in the D.C. Metro, is Sunday, 2 - 3pm at the Xenia Library.

WYSO and filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steve Bognar now have season two of ReInvention Stories. Every Wednesday morning, a new ReInvention radio story is airing right here. You can learn about Jennifer Evans who was unsatisfied with her work as a civil engineer in Detroit and she decided to return to Old North Dayton to re-open her parent's business, Evans' Bakery. Hear the story here.
