Appleton Papers in West Carrollton has announced the pending layoff of 330 employees. The company informed the City of West Carrollton of its intentions Thursday. The Dayton Daily News reports that Bill Covell, The City’s economic development manager, says that Appleton will no longer manufacturer pulp at the plant, which is located on West Alex Bell Road.
About 100 workers will remain at the plant after the layoffs.
Appleton invested $100 million into its thermal paper manufacturing abilities only five years ago.
