The City of West Carrollton may be interested in the property that houses the City’s Appleton Paper plant. The company announced Thursday that it will stop paper-making operations at the plant, resulting in the loss of 330 jobs.
The Dayton Daily News reports that West Carrollton’s economic development director – Bill Covell – would like to discuss the property’s future, which sits adjacent to southbound I-75. Covell calls the 35 to 40 acres “prime real estate.”
A spokesman for Appleton says that the company has not made any plans about the property’s future.
