West Carrollton Interested in Appleton Paper Property
The City of West Carrollton may be interested in the property that houses the City’s Appleton Paper plant.
The company announced Thursday that it will stop paper-making operations at the plant, resulting in the loss of 330 jobs.
The Dayton Daily News reports that West Carrollton’s economic development director – Bill Covell – would like to discuss the property’s future, which sits adjacent to southbound I-75. Covell calls the 35 to 40 acres “prime real estate.”
A spokesman for Appleton says that the company has not made any plans about the property’s future.
