The Tecumseh Local School District has selected Norm Glisman to become its next superintendent. He will replace Brad Martin who was convicted of using school funds to support a gambling habit.
Glisman, who was selected over three other candidates, explained that the Tecumseh School Board wants transparency and leadership from him.
"I think the board's first and foremost goal is that all business be conducted in a very transparent manner so that the stakeholders - the community - will once again regain trust in the school district, specifically in the leadership of the school district," he said.
Glismann has been Graham High School's superintendent since 2009. Prior to that he served in the same capacity at Yellow Springs and school districts in Minnesota and Texas.
In May, Brad Martin accepted a plea deal related to three felony counts stating that he stole money from the school to spend more than 300 days gambling at a casino.
The Tecumseh School Board will confirm Norm Glismann’s appointment on June 30 and he is expected to start on Aug. 1.
