A rally for the family of a man shot and killed by police inside a Beavercreek Walmart in August will take place Monday morning. A student led political activist group from Columbus is organizing the event.

The Ohio Student Association is calling the event the "Journey for John Crawford." Crawford was shot and killed inside of Walmart after police responded to a 9-1-1 call saying he was pointing a weapon at other customers.

Student organizers have scheduled an 11-mile march from the Beavercreek Walmart store on Monday, to the Greene County Courthouse, where a special grand jury will start deliberating if Crawford's death was justifiable.

The purpose of the rally according to OSA is to make sure that there is justice for John Crawford and to have Attorney General Mike DeWine release the surveillance tape that captured what happened inside of Walmart.

Local law enforcement officials are hoping for an orderly and peaceful situation. Protestors plan on being in Xenia for at least two days.
