DAYTON, Ohio- Although the majority of the 40 school districts maintained their state report card ratings, 13 districts improved.
Among the Miami Valley school districts that improved for the 2010-11 school year were Beavercreek, Centerville, Dayton, Miamisburg, Northridge, Springboro and West Carrollton. Three districts - Kettering, Lebanon, and Newton - slipped in rating from “Excellent with Distinction” to “Excellent.”
According to the Dayton Daily News, last year only seven districts saw improvement while 12 dropped in rating among the 40 school districts. School districts can get one of six ratings, similar to the A-plus through F letter grades.
