Personal Creation and Biomythography: Tales from the Storytelling Class at Antioch College

Antioch College recently hired some new faculty members that began teaching this Fall.  Among them was Gabrielle Civil, associate professor of performance. This quarter Antioch Word Producer Hideo Higashibaba is taking one of her classes called Storytelling. This class studies the different methods and traditions of storytelling now and throughout history. What you’ll hear this month are three of Higashibaba’s favorite stories he heard from his classmates. Coincidentally all of them were told by women. Each story was written and told along the theme of personal creation myth or biomythography. The first story comes from IdaLease Cummings, class of 2016. The second is from Amelia Gonzalez, class of 2017. The final story is told by Al Najjar, also from the class of 2016.
