If you're wondering whether Texas Gov. Rick Perry will or won't get into the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, here are a few more bits of evidence indicating that he just might:
-- "Multiple Republican sources tell NH Journal that Perry is calling top-shelf Republican leaders in the Granite State. [That would be New Hampshire.] One Republican state senator who received a call from the governor confirmed that he has been discussing his entry into the presidential sweepstakes with leading state Republicans for the past few days."
-- "Perry reportedly phoned several Iowa donors in the past week for their opinion on whether he should jump into the race," writes the Houston Chronicle's Texas on the Potomac blog.
"One activist, a prominent Iowa Republican named Joni Scotter, said Perry called her and asked if he should run," The Daily Caller reported over the weekend. "He was undecided, but she told him 'of course' he should."
-- Perry's "Texas-based associates are reaching out to prominent operatives in South Carolina and other early nominating states to gauge interest in a potential candidacy," according to USA Today.
Mark Miner, a spokesman for Perry's 2010 gubernatorial campaign, tells USA Today that "the governor continues to think about a potential run for president, and nothing has changed. Information and process-gathering calls have been made in some states, but no staff has been hired."
