Ohio State on Alert After 2 Attempted Abductions

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State University authorities say a man tried to abduct two women in separate incidents near OSU Medical Center on Wednesday.

Both women ran away and were unharmed. The Columbus Dispatch reports one was approached at a bus stop by a man who held a knife with a 3-inch blade to her side and told her she was coming with him. The other woman was grabbed near her car.

The university sent a text message alert and warned people to be aware of their surroundings when walking around campus.

OSU police Deputy Chief Richard Morman says officers questioned a man Wednesday night. There was no immediate word of any charges filed.
