Ohio Man Faces Additional Charge In Alleged Terror Plot

An Ohio man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol faces a new charge of supporting a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization.
 
A federal grand jury added the charge Thursday in the case of 21-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell of suburban Cincinnati. Cornell was charged in January with the attempted murder of U.S. officials and employees. He also was charged with two other counts in an alleged plot to attack the Capitol.
 
The new charge says Cornell offered "material support and resources" including himself as "personnel" to the c extremist group.
 
Cornell pleaded not guilty to the earlier charges and has a May 12 court date for the new one. He's been held without bond since his Jan. 14 arrest.
 
His father has said Cornell was coerced by a government "snitch."
