Niki Dakota Hosts the Day-Tones Barbershop Quartet

Anthony Pettiford

Niki Dakota interviews Mike Haslet of the Day-Tones barbershop quartet and listens to a few choice pieces to publicize the up-coming  barbershop quartet festival on the 12th, this year themed 'Celebrate Dayton'.

Haslet informed Niki during the interview that this year will not only be the 28th gathering of the Miami Valley Music Men, to which the Day-Tones belong, but also the 75th anniversary of the creation of the barbershop harmony society, originating in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The quartet sang three classic tunes including "Zippidy Doo-Da" and Ray Charles' "What a Wonderful World".

The performance will take place at the Randy Chisel auditorium in the Old Dayton High School on Smithville road in Dayton, Ohio.
