WYSO gladly welcomed into the studio Tom Blackburn, Jon Chasteen, Kent Montgomery, and David Payne who are The New Old-Fashioned. Their self-titled debut album will be released during their CD release party at Canal Street Tavern on December 7th, 2012. Special guests are Tim Pritchard and the Boxcar Suite and Absinthe Junk from Nashville, TN.
Both David Payne and The New Old-Fashioned have been guests on Kaleidoscope in the past. David Payne, Kent Montgomery, and Tom Blackburn attended the same Highschool. David and Kent began writing songs and playing shows together, and The New Old-Fashioned was formed. Tom Blackburn interned at WYSO in the past with Tim Berger. Kent Montgomery was a previous intern on Excursions with Niki Dakota.
While on Excursions, They performed three songs off their self-titled debut album: " Queen of the Midwest," "Ohio," and "Chin Up, Darlin'."
