New Developments Mean Big Money For Huber Heights

The city of Huber Heights is expecting a big payout with two new housing developments.

A senior living facility and multi-family housing complex in the city’s Carriage Trails Subdivision is expected to create $34 million in revenue over the next three decades.

The senior living facility called Danbury of Huber Heights will bring 180 full-time jobs with a payroll of $3 million into the city once the building is finished.

City Manager Rob Schommer says people outside of Huber Heights will benefit from the Danbury project as well.

“Just for this project, you’re looking at about 400 construction jobs," he said. "Certainly that’s local opportunities, but also that’s going to pull from the region to find skilled tradesmen and also general labor construction workers all within the area. And that’s going to create a payroll throughout the project of about $8 million.”

Schommer says construction on the multi-family housing complex will create 220 jobs. By the time it’s finished, it will provide five full-time positions.

There is no specific completion date set for either project.
