Election 2010
Montgomery County Says Your Ballots Will Be Counted
By Emily McCord
As absentee results come in, Montgomery County board of elections official Steve Harsman assures voters their ballot will be counted
"First and foremost, anyone who voted early or by absentee, if their ballot was eligable to be counted, it will be included in that total. There's a myth by a lot of voters in the public and the media that those ballots are only counted if the race is close, and in fact, it's the opposite. It's the first set of results and the ballots that we count first," says Harsman.
Harsman expects to have 95% of all Montgomery County votes counted 11:30 tonight, but we won't have a grand total until tomorrow.
