With both presidential candidates focusing their attention on Ohio, the Ohio Republican presidential campaign office has scheduled a rally on Thursday in Springfield.
Clark County's GOP headquarters says Thursday's event will be held at the Clark County Fairgrounds and will include a concert by singer Rodney Atkins. U.S. Senator Rob Portman and former Cincinnati Bengals star Anthony Munoz are scheduled to speak.
Clark County Republican Party Chair Lynda Smith says the event is being called the Road to Victory and the GOP is hoping to create enthusiasm for Mitt Romney as the November election quickly approaches.
Clark County Democratic Party Chair Ron Rhine says the event will serve as another attempt by the GOP to distort President Obama's record and will not change the lead the president seems to have gained in a recent Quinnipiac poll, that shows him with a 53-43 percent advantage in Ohio.
