The Footmen Live on Excursions

On November 9th, 2012, WYSO welcomed Jason and Jerry from the band The Footmen into the studio live on Excursions. The band consists of the two brothers, Jason and Jerry, and a madolin player, Chris McFadden. While in the studio, they performed their songs "Bright Eyes," "American Spirit," "Runaway American Train," and "Bitter Rhapsody."

Their music is described on Reverb Nation as having Catholic harmonies and profound poetic lyrics. Their music takes the listener on a journey. It has the power to wound and heal the soul, as well as soothing and inspiring the listener. The Footmen are proof that blood and music do mix.

The brothers started writing music when they were around 7. They were raised on gospel music and their mother introduced them to poetry when they were young, which became the two influences for their music. The band started out playing music in church.

On Friday, Nov. 9th, they performed from 5pm to 8pm at The Oregon Express in Dayton. They will begin recording their new album soon which will be entitled Let It Burn. You can find out more about their music on www.reverbnation.com/thefootmen.
