Court to Consider Location of Ohio Bomb Plot Trial

A federal court in Akron is set to consider scheduling matters for five men charged with plotting to bomb a northeast Ohio bridge.

The court scheduled the Thursday status conference and said it also would consider whether the case should be tried in Akron or Cleveland. The highway bridge named as the target of the alleged bomb plot sits in between those cities, near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The suspects are described by the government as self-proclaimed anarchists. They have pleaded not guilty.

Authorities said they arrested the members of Occupy Cleveland last month when they tried to detonate what was actually a fake explosive provided by an undercover FBI employee.

One defense attorney has called it a case of entrapment and said a government informant guided the way.
