When Stacy Pershall was growing up in a small town in Arkansas she never felt like she fit in. She tried to blend in. She became active in her church. That didn't work out. The kids at school made fun of her. That really hurt. Her first boyfriend was not kind either. He told her that she needed to lose some weight.
Stacy developed an eating disorder. She tried to kill herself. Eventually she got away from that little town in the Bible Belt but her problems stayed with her. Fortunately, she did meet some people along the way who really cared about her. That probably saved her life.
Stacy achieved a certain measure of notoriety when she tried to take her own life live on the internet. Eventually, she was diagnosed as having borderline personality disorder. Stacy has written this courageous memoir in the hope that her story might help others who are feeling unloved, desperate, hopeless, or suicidal.
Stacy now lives in New York City where she is trying out her latest anti-depressant drug (her 25th variety), and she continues to add to her collection of tattoos.
