Book Nook: Great House by Nicole Krauss

Nicole Krauss has established herself as one of our leading American novelists with books like "The History of Love" and "Man Walks into a Room." She has further solidified that status with the amazing "Great House" which is just coming out in paperback. It is the story of a desk and a lot more.

In this interview Krauss provides some rare insights into her creative process. The narrative threads in "Great House" are meticulously constructed. Each word is chosen with great care. In our conversation the author admitted that her exacting standards can make her feel like she is pounding her head into her computer monitor.

She is a dazzling talent. We had a lovely chat about her work. And of course there was always that desk, looming there.
