Book Nook: The Elements of Peace - How Nonviolence Works, by J. Frederick Arment
The 1995 Dayton Peace Accords ended that terrible war in Bosnia. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke was the guiding force behind those successful negotiations which took place on the grounds of Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
In the first chapter of his latest book, "The Elements of Peace - How Nonviolence Works," noted peace activist J. Frederick Arment demonstrates how the art of diplomacy as it unfolded at WPAFB is just one of thirty methods he enumerates that can help us to achieve peace or to at least maintain it.
In this interview Arment reflects on how he chose to become a peace activist and what led him to make the effort to publish this contribution to the field of peace studies.
