Board of Education Selects Three Finalists For Superintendent

Three finalists have been selected to replace Dr. David Estrop as superintendent of the Springfield City Schools. Estrop is retiring at the end of the school year, and the school board is hoping to select his replacement by the end of March.

District Treasurer Dale Miller says the finalists are all superintendents of other Ohio school districts: Robert Hill from Firelands Local School District in Cleveland, Guy Parmigian from Benton-Carroll-Salem Local School District in Oak Harbor, and Carl Metzger from South-Western City Schools in Grove City.

Miller says they were chosen out of sixteen initial applicants. Parmigian will be interviewed Monday, Metzger Tuesday and Hill on Wednesday - a new superintendent will be selected within three weeks.

The candidates will be in Springfield next week for interviews and to meet the public from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Clark Center.
