Wayne Baker is a graduate of Yellow Springs High School and Central State University. He has worked in print media for several years covering news and sports.  Baker has coached youth basketball in the Yellow Springs school system and served on the Human Relations Commission.

Miami County Elections Overview

Voters in Troy have selected Al Clark, Lynn Snee and Robin Oda to fill two seats on city council.

Also on Tuesday, James Livingston was voted in as Troy's Law Director.  David Trostle and David Heffner were voted in to fill two seat on the Troy School Board.

In Piqua, Robert Anspach narrowly defeated Lucinda Fess in the Piqua city mayor's race.  In unofficial results, Anspack garnered 51% of the vote or 2,577 votes, and Fess had 49% or 2,513 votes.

Wilmington Elects Riley as Mayor

Wilmington voters, in unofficial results, have selected Republican Randy Riley to serve as mayor.  Riley defeated Democrat, David Raizk by a count of 51% to to 48%.

Wilmington voters also selected Mark McKay, Bryan Siebenaller and Robert Mead to serve on City Council.

Clinton County voters gave a nod to Mike McCarty and Jamie Rudy to serve on the Clinton Massie School Board.

Clark County Voters Approve Parks Levy

Clark County voters approved a sixth-tenths mill parks levy on Tuesday, as unofficial results show the levy passed with 57% of the vote.

The levy was an attempt to generate money to fund maintenance of green space, parks and bike trails throughout Clark County.  The parks levy will generate annually $1 million for the National Trail and Parks Recreation District and the Clark County Parks District, the two groups responsible for the maintenance of the parks in Clark County.

The levy will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $21 per year.

Yellow Springs Results Summary

Yellow Springs voters returned incumbents Rick Walkey and Lori Askland to Village Council along with longtime village resident, Gerald Simms.

In uncontested races, Mayor David Foubert will now serve another term.  Incumbent Sean Creighton and newcomer Sylvia Ellison ran unopposed for seats on the school board.

In a race for Miami Township Trusteee, voters selected incumbent Chris Mucher over John Eastman.

Supporters Of Parks Levy Refine Message In Clark County

Tuesday, there's an issue on the ballot to support the parks district in Clark County. Last year when voters were asked to approve the 1.62-mill levy, it failed. WYSO's Wayne Baker reports that supporters of the levy are attempting to make the levy more palatable to voters.
